One afternoon I was looking through some of my mother's many art books. I picked up a book that changed my life. 

 

It was a book about a British Decoupage Artist. Although decoupage has been around for hundreds of years, this decoupage was different. The artist added an aged crackle finish to many of her creations.

 

I immediately fell in love with the look.

 

It was at that point I started my quest to learn decoupage and how to achieve an aged crackle look. 

 

After many failed attempts, I finally developed my own method.

 

Along with this, I wanted to work with images that had an aged look also. So, I collected antique prints, Victorian Scrapbooks, textile patterns, French fabric, and any old papers that I could find. 

 

My antique images are all scanned and I work with the antique images digitally on my computer. I create my artwork with several different design elements including paper, fabric, paint, and more.

 

I cut, decoupage, and paint every item myself and of course, each decoupage piece has an aged crackle look.
